Prior to meditating, I was feeling anxious and unmotivated. I decided that it would be a good time to see if meditating would help me with how I was feeling. I wore comfortable clothes, found a quiet place, sat on a cushion, with a candle burning on one side, and a timer on the other. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. In the beginning it was a bit strange to sit in silence, especially with a wandering mind. I began to focus only on my breath and the present moment. Once I finished meditating, I did feel a sense of relief and relaxation. I was very happy with how my first day of mindful meditation went!
